GREENDAY

 

In 1987 Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt formed the band Sweet Children, and had there first gig at Rod's Hickory Pit in 1988, with former member Al Sobrante on drums. In early 89 they changed there name to Green Day referring to a day spent smoking marajuana. Al Sobrante left the band temporarily in 1990 and Tre Cool joined the band as a temporary drummer, which became a permanent position.
